Become a volunteer
No experience needed. We train you, and the department covers your insurance and workers' compensation.
What it actually takes
- Training, once a month. Usually a Saturday. This is where you learn everything — nobody expects you to arrive knowing it.
- A monthly meeting. An evening a month to sort out what the department needs.
- Calls, when you can make them. Nobody makes every call. People have jobs and families — you turn out when you are able, and that is genuinely enough.
- No cost to you. Gear, training, insurance, and workers’ compensation are all paid by the department.
Not every role is on a fire
Departments need drivers, pump operators, people who can keep the books, run a fundraiser, handle traffic at a scene, or bring food and water on a long call. Support members are members — they are on the roster and they matter. If you want to help but do not want to go into a burning building, there is a place for you.
Ready to join?
